MAME4droid (Current) is a notable initiative by David Valdeita (Seleuco), serving as a port of the latest MAME emulator developed by MAMEDev and its contributors. This application specializes in emulating a variety of arcade games and systems, including ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and MSX, among others. Impressively, it supports over 40,000 different ROMs.

It is important to note that MAME4droid is an emulator and does not come with any ROMs or copyrighted material.

This iteration of MAME4droid is tailored for high-end Android devices, as it is based on the latest PC version of MAME, which demands higher specifications compared to its predecessors. Even with robust hardware, users should be prepared for potential performance issues with "modern" arcade games from the 1990s and onward; full speed and compatibility cannot be guaranteed.

With such a comprehensive library of over 40,000 supported games and systems, performance can vary significantly. While some titles may run seamlessly, others might exhibit difficulties or fail to launch altogether. Given the vast scope of supported titles, requests for support regarding specific games are discouraged.

Upon installation, users should place their zipped MAME-titled ROMs in the /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms directory. Further options for reading ROMs are available within the help section.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This version of MAME4droid only utilizes the latest MAME romset, excluding those from previous versions.
